Be like Ferdinand.Remember Ferdinand the Bull? He was a mild-mannered bull in a children's book, who liked to "sit just quietly" and smell the flowers. But Ferdinand was captured and taken to a bull fight. He was led out into the arena so the matador could fight him and stick him with his sword.
But Ferdinand chose not to fight. He just sat down and enjoyed the fragrance of flowers in the air. He refused to let the negative actions of others affect him.
Action for the day:
Today, if someone invites you to enter into an unpleasant conversation or a fight, choose to "sit just quietly," and don't let them push your buttons. You can be at peace when you know who you are and what you want--no matter what the rest of the world is doing.

Be like Ferdinand.
Wear clothes that fit.
Wear clothes that fit.For some people who have had WLS, buying clothes that fit correctly is a challenge. First, you may not see yourself as you really are; you may still have a "fat" brain--even if your body has slimmed down. And second, you may still be drawn to baggy clothes, thinking they will hide your physical flaws.
It may be time to rethink your fashion choices. Maybe something more form fitting will flatter you now. Maybe you still feel fat, but in reality you look fit and healthy.
Action for the day:
If you feel completely out of your element at the clothing store, or if you can't seem to let go of your baggy clothes, go shopping with a friend and let him or her dress you. Even if you don't buy, at least you'll start to see the possibilities.

Enjoy your freedom
Enjoy your freedom. After WLS, you continue day by day to cast off the chains that have bound you for so long. Each day you breathe better, move better, and feel better. You are free to enjoy not only your own life, but the lives of your family and friends as well.
Finally, you can play with your children outside. You can walk longer with your spouse or friends. You can say "yes" to invitations because you have the energy to endure the events, and you want to show off (just a little). Your family is excited to go on vacations that involve bathing suits and walking in the woods. And you equally share in the excitement of new places and new sites. Freedom from your weight is a wonderful feeling.
Action for the day:
What have you avoided doing in the past that you can do now? Today, take steps to do something that celebrates your new-found freedom.

Time to catch up again, can't beleive I lost another week without updating
Last week was a busy one, we got started on the details for the Meet & Greet, which will be on Nov 18-20th, once again here in Palmerston North. We are still trying to secure out sponsorship for the event and to 100% confirm out guest speaker. But it is all looking good so far and we should have details and registrations done by the first weekend in July.
I had a tooth pulled last week as well, and it bleed a lot more that we hoped. It was a molar on the right hand side, and he has had to stitch it. I'll get the stitches out this Wednesday. I was also doing our evenings shift last week, so not getting home till around 8:30pm. Certainly makes things harder food wise. I'm also trying to be get back to being relatively Gluten Free, as it certainly does affect my skin. Last night I made a GF Bacon & Egg Pie for our lunches for a couple of days, so that will be great today.
Weight, still stable, sitting at 112.9kgs today, and since I had a relatively bad week last week, that is pretty good.
Okay onto the daily bites, which I have been slack doing: (again)

Happiness is not perfection.
Do you think that for you to be happy, everything in your life has to be just so? Happiness is a strange thing. It's not synonymous with perfection. In fact, some of the happiest people alive are neither wealthy...nor thin.
Happiness involves overlooking imperfections, laughing at mistakes, and making a lot of lemonade from lemons. It is the attitude you adopt even in the face of problems.
Action for the day:Today, respond to your life with happiness. Wear your rose coloured glasses all day.
