Cook from scratch

The NAWLS Small bite for March 17th is

Cook from scratch.
Many people have almost forgotten how to cook a meal from scratch, but cooking from scratch provides myraid benefits.

First, you are moving about the kitchen, so you are undoubtable buring calories. Second, you can control the quality of food you use in your cooking, thus boosting the nutritional value. And third, ifyou're in the kitchen cooking from scratch, you are avoiding the prepared and prepackaged foods that have loads of extra fat (the unhealhty kind) and added sugar (it would surprise you what sugar gets added to!)

Action for the day:
Make a favourite recipe from scratch, substituting lower-fat and whole-grain products for their higher-calorie, refined versions.
