Stand up for your needs

The NAWLS Small bite for March 7th

Stand up for your needs.
When it's time for you to do something for yourself, like exercise or take your vitaminsm it's okay to do it - even if others want you to do something for them instead. Resist the temptation to put off until later what you know is necessary now. Except in very rare circumstances, another's needs should not completely supersede your own. You may be trying not to offend someone or trying not to bring attention to yourself, but if your ultimate goal is to live a healthy life, consider reexamining your values.

Your needs and goals have changed. When you decide to grab a protein drink later or to skip your lunch to do something for someone else, you jeopardize your own health. Let people know their needs will be met only if you don't have to sacrifice your ownhealth in order to help them.

Action for the day:
Take care of yourself in a healthy way, and then you can help others.
